Gnanasara Thera admitted to Sri Jayawardenapura hospital
The General Secretary of the Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) Ven. Galagodaththe Gnanasara Thera who is serving a six-year prison sentence has been admitted to the Sri Jayawardenapura hospital, the BBS media unit said.
According to the statement the Thera was transferred to the Prisons Hospital owing to a health condition and as a result has had to undergo medical tests.
Galagodaththe Gnanasara Thera was convicted on four charges of Contempt of Court and was sentenced to a 19 year rigorous imprisonment, to be completed in 6 years.
This is the second time that the Thera has been admitted to the Sri Jayawardenapura hospital since August 8 owing to medical reasons.
