Former Defense Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa today appeared before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry to Investigate and Inquire into Serious Acts of Fraud, Corruption and Abuse of Power, State Resources and Privileges (PRECIFAC) to record a statement over the allegations of financial irregularities at Rakna Arakshaka Lanka company.
Former Navy Commander Admiral Jayantha Perera was also presented along with former Defense Secretary.
Former President’s Secretary Saman Ekanayake was today remanded until February 11 by the Fort Magistrate in relation to the case where former President Ranil Wickremesinghe is alleged to have misused Rs. 16.6 million in state funds during a visit to the UK to attend his wife’s graduation ceremony at the University of Wolverhampton.
