The Government has taken steps to deposit the April installment of the Mahapola Scholarship funds to students' bank accounts today, Higher Education Minister Bandula Gunawardena told Times Online.
Those receiving Mahapola Scholarship funds usually receive their monthly installments on the 10th of each month. However, they will receive April's installment early and the Government has set aside Rs 207 million for this purpose, he added.
Mr Gunawardena said the money has already been deposited in State bank accounts while those with accounts in private banks will have money deposited by tomorrow.
