The Government has postponed plans to reopen the country to tour groups from select countries. A senior Tourism Ministry official stated that the plans have been put off by another month.
The official stated that plans had initially been drawn up to allow travel agents to bring down tour groups from countries where the COVID-19 epidemic was deemed to be under control.
However, with a second wave of COVID-19 infections now being reported in Europe and some other countries, these plans are no longer feasible. As such, the plans to reopen the country to tour groups from selected countries has been postponed by a month.
The official added that they have taken steps to inform international travel agencies of this fact.
