The government will extend its fullest support to celebrate the Poson festival while giving prominence to religious activities, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said yesterday (Jun 5).
Speaking at a meeting in Temple Trees, the Prime Minister noted that arrangements have been made to celebrate the Poson festival in a colourful manner across the country.
He had said that facilities have also been provided to Anuradhapura since more than one million worshippers visit the area in keeping with the Vesak festival.
Further, the Prime Minister that the pandals which were not lit up during Vesak owing to security concerns, will be allowed to be installed for the Poson festival.
