The government has decided to grant Rs 1 million as compensation to the families of foreign nationals who lost their lives in last Sunday's tragic incidents.
A proposal to this effect is to be put forward before cabinet by the Foreign Affairs Minister upon the instructions of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe during the next cabinet meeting.
Meanwhile, the Department of Immigration has deployed a dedicated team of officers to assist foreigners who arrive in the country to visit the victims of the recent explosions.
