The government will introduce vocational training programmes for ex-LTTE cadres and migrant workers who lack educational qualifications, Minister Rishad Bathiudeen said.
The Vocational Training and Skills Development Minister noted that his ministry has identified 12,000 ex-LTTE cadres and 30,000 migrant workers who would be provided with vocational training in the future.
Mr. Bathiudeen noted that these workers were employed in the middle-east for very low salaries as they did not have educational qualifications.
Accordingly, he said that talks would be held the Foreign Affairs Ministry to bring back these workers and provide training.
