The government will provide Rs 1 million as compensation to the families of those who lost their lives during the explosive attacks which occured yesterday, Minister Rajitha Senaratne said.
The Health Minister made these remarks during a media briefing today at Temple Trees. He also said that an inital sum of Rs 100,000 will be disbured for the funeral arrangements.
Further, the government will also provide between Rs 100,000 - Rs 300,000 for medical treatment for those who sustained injuries during the tragedy.
Instructions have also been issued to the security forces in order to engage in efforts to reconstruct the churches which were destroyed yesterday.
