Hambantota saltern expanded by 20 acres

The main saltern in Hambantota has been expanded by a further 20 acres. Saltwater was released to the new areas on July 26 for salt production to begin. 

It is hoped to increase salt production by a further 5000 metric tonnes through this expansion of the saltern.
