Heads roll at Sri Lanka Tourism
Tourism Minister John Amaratunga on Monday called for the resignation of the heads and boards of Sri Lanka Tourism. They are Chairmen of the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority Paddy Withana, Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau Rohantha Athukorala, Sri Lanka Institute Tourism and Hotel Management Kapila Yakandawa and Sri Lanka Conventions Bureau Udaya Kumara Rupasinghe .As per the government statute all heads and boards would be dissolved with the appointment of a new minister. In the meantime, Promotions Bureau Managing Director Milan Gajanayaka is said to be under investigation due to questions on how money amounting to around Rs.2 million had been spent without board approval.
