Many people in the Hambantota district were seen coming into towns for their daily needs after the curfew in the district was lifted for a prolonged period after a month.
While activities at Government and private offices seemed to be following the guidelines issued by health authorities, many people were seen moving around town and using public transport services without adhering to social distancing and other health guidelines. Some people weren't even wearing masks.
There were also long lines at many wine stores in the district, with many customers ignoring social distancing guidelines and standing close to each other.
