The Health Ministry has decided to allocate Rs 482 million for the construction of gene therapy centres across the country.
These centres will be used to modify genes in order to cure diseases such as cancer, liver failure, and even heart conditions.
Accordingly, five gene therapy centres will be established within the country and will be operated by 11 specialist doctors.
