The Health Ministry will distribute 118 Ford Ambulances, 307 Benz Ambulances and 25 Advanced Life Support Ambulances across all hospitals tomorrow (Apr 11).
These ambulances have been imported from a company in Germany, the Health Ministry said adding that Rs 43.67 billion has been spent for this purpose.
A Ford and a Benz ambulance have been imported at a cost of Rs 9.1 million. In addition, the advanced life support ambulances have been purchased at a cost of Rs 20 million each.
The ambulances have been granted on a loan basis from the German company.
The advanced life support ambulances will be equipped with medical equipment such as ventilators and defibrillators.Each district will received one such ambulance, the Ministry said.
