The Health Ministry has warned the public to refrain from taking drugs such as aspirin and steroids for dengue fever.
Issuing a statement, Health Services Director General Dr Anil Jayasinghe warned against taking asprin, other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, or steroids to treat the fever.
According to the statement, the number of dengue cases has increased along with the south-west monsoonal rains, with a majority of cases being reported from the Kalutara, Gampaha, Ratnapura, Galle, and Matara districts.
Dr Jayasinghe stated that the public must refrain from taking the following drugs and doctors should avoid prescribing the same ;
