Those from isolated areas are prohibited from entering the Central Bus Stand in Pettah or the Fort Railway Station that will operate despite Fort and Pettah police divisions being declared as isolated, Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said.
He said a large number of police officers have been deployed to ensure public transport is not used by those residing in isolated police areas and those travelling are following health and hygiene measures.
DIG Rohana said 42 persons have been arrested during the past 24 hours for violating quarantine rules including not wearing face masks and failing to maintain social distance.
