Several high-profile criminals who were on a hunger strike at the Boosa prisons since last week have called off the strike today, a senior prison officials said.
Kanjipani Imran, Wele Suda, Kosgoda Tharaka, Podi Lassi and Wele Suda were inmates who commenced the hunger strike on September 10.
By Sunday the number on hunger strike dropped to 20 from the original 45 who commenced the protest.
They were demanding that more visits by their family members should be allowed among other demands.
