A delegation of Human Rights Watch (HRW) led by Mr Brad Adams, Asia Executive Director met with the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence Eng. Karunasena Hettiarachchi at the Ministry premises yesterday, ministry said in a statement. The HRW representatives exchanged views with the Secretary on issues related to the follow-up of the resolution adopted in the Human Rights Council on Reconciliation and Accountability process in Sri Lanka. Discussions were also held on activities of HRW including training programmes conducted in relation to IHL and IHRL and avenues for future cooperation. Ms Meenakshi Ganguly, Director South Asia and Ms Tejshree Thapa, Senior Researcher of HRW were also present at the meeting.
