The rate of hydro power production in the country has decreased by 10 percent, the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) said.
The CEB noted that water levels have dwindled to 29 percent.
Meanwhile, certain areas in the country faced power failures over the last 48 hours due to damages caused to power cables as a result of heavy winds in the country.
