A special seven-member police committee has been appointed to carry out further investigations into the suspects who have been deported from Dubai.
The committee will be headed by Senior DIG Ravi Seneviratne of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and will comprise Senior Superintendents, Senior Deputy Inspector Generals of Police, Deputy Inspector Generals of Police and Superintendents of Police.
"At present we would be carrying out investigations on four suspects who have been detained out of the six suspects who have been deported from Dubai," Police Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekara told Times Online adding that two suspects have been released as of now.
He also noted that this committee will supervise, co-ordinate and issue instructions pertaining to the future course of action against the rest of the suspects including druglord 'Makandure madush' who are expected to arrive in the country.
