IGP N K Ilangakoon appeared before the National Police Commission with regard to the fatal incident in Embilipitiya where a youth died in a clash with police recently at a party at Maha Ela.
Meanwhile the policemen who were transferred after the incident appeared before the Human Rights commission today.The police headquarters have appointed two OICs to the Embilipitiya police station within three days.
The final rites of veteran broadcaster, writer, and lyricist Nirmala de Alwis will be held today at Peradeniya.
