The importing of ethanol to manufacture liquor has been suspended with immediate effect, the Finance Ministry said.
According to a statement from the Finance Ministry the decision was taken by Finance Minister, and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
The decision was taken as ethanol is produced locally.
