The annual festival of the Vattapalai Kannaki Amman Kovil in Mullativu came to an end last evening (8).
The week-long festival was held under the protection of the armed forces and police and the supervision of health officials this year owing to restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The crowds for this year's festival was markedly less owing to the pandemic. The Mullaitivu Security Forces Headquarters took measures to provide facilities to the devotees who took part in the festival.
The Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) undertakes to scatter flowers over the kovil from the air for the final pooja of the festival and an SLAF Bell helicopter did so this year as well.
