The bodies of four persons who were killed in the suicide explosions at Sainthamaruthu were exhumed to conduct DNA tests, today (Jun 7).
Steps were taken to exhume the body since the initial samples which were sent to the Government Analyst could not be used.
The bodies were exhumed in the presence of Ampara Chief Magistrate Asanga Hettiwatte after obtaining an order from the Kalmunai Magistrate's Court.
The samples from these bodies were extracted under the supervision of former Judicial Medical Officer Dr. Ruchira Nadeera.
