In Pictures: Empty temples on Poya Day
The COVID-19 outbreak has had a severe impact on normal life in the country. Though today (7) is Bak Full Moon Poya Day, the curfew currently in effect throughout the country means that there are no devotees at Buddhist temples.
These images were captured at the Bellanwila Raja Maha Vihara Temple in Colombo today, which would normally be teeming with tens of thousands of devotees on a Poya Day.
