In pictures: Rehearsals for Independence Day celebrations
Rehearsals for Independence Day celebrations which are being held will continue at the Galle Face Green until February 3.
As a result the road along Galle Face Green will be closed from 7 a.m to 12 p.m. daily. Heavy traffic congestion was reported across many roads in and around Colombo.
According to the police, the flow of traffic will be limited from the Colpetty Junction to the old parliament roundabout.

The meteorology department issuing a warm weather advisory for today that the temperature felt on human body is likely to increase up to ‘Caution level’ at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, North-western, Northern and North central provinces and in Monaragala district.
