An agreement was signed between India and Sri Lanka today (Feb 21) to establish a Business Centre for IT incubators in Jaffna using a Rs 250 m granted by the Indian government.
The Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Taranjit Singh and Development Strategies and International Trade Secretary S.T. Kodikara signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between both countries.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, Minister of Development Strategies and International Trade, Malik Samarawickrema and Deputy Minister Nalin Bandara were witness to the signing that took place at Temple Trees.
MP Mavai Senathirajah, Export Development Board Chairman Indira Malwatte and several other senior officials were also present during the occasion.
The Business Centre would provide opportunities to create a favourable enviornment for ICT and other professional services in the Northern province.
