A seven day detention order has been imposed on a suspect who was arrested with 75 grams of heroin, a foreign 0.38 mm pistol and six bullets.
The suspect was arrested following a tip-off by officers attached to the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) in the vicinity of the Kanduboda Meditation Centre at around 7:10 pm on April 10.
He was produced before the Pugoda Magistrates Court before being issued a detention order yesterday.
Police have identified the suspect as S. Pradeep Saliya, a resident of Dekatana.
PNB officers are conducting further investigations into the suspect.
