An individual who is suspected to have released a letter allegedly from the Tourism Development Authority containing details of an impending attack, on social media has been identified, Police Spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara said.
While declaring that the contents of the alleged letter were based on unconfirmed reports, the Spokesman noted that relevant security arrangements are currently in place to prevent the occurence of such attacks.
Further, he said that the Criminal Investigations Department was conducting an investigation into the matter.
Meanwhile, Superintendent Gunasekara, told a news conference today (May 09) that the brother of the suicide bomber who blew himself up at the St. Anthony's Church in Kotahena has been arrested by the Police.
In addition, two other individuals who maintained close links with the bomber have also been taken into custody, he said.
