An inmate who was rushed to the Ratnapura Hospital after attempting to commit suicide has died upon admission yesterday (Dec 22).
The inmate is reported to have been identified as a 24-year old who was serving a prison sentence over the possession of illegal drugs.
Police said that the remains of the victim lie at the Ratnapura Hospital.
Further investigations into the incident are being carried out by the Police.
An Attorney at law and his wife was shot dead in the car park of a super market in Akuregoda today evening.
