The State Ministry of Production, Supply and Regulation of Pharmaceuticals has launched an investigation into reports that two cancer patients undergoing treatment at the Hambantota District Hospital had died after being administered with injections.
Issuing a statement, the ministry, quoting State Minister of Production, Supply and Regulation of Pharmaceuticals Channa Jayasumana, stated that Sri Lanka imports cancer drugs from many countries and that a thorough investigation has been launched to identify the cause of the deaths.
