An Iranian national has been arrested for selling smuggled cigarettes in Welimada yesterday (Sept 27).
Special Task Force personnel had recovered 1,820 cigarette sticks from the suspect at the time of the arrest.
It is believed that the Iranian national had smuggled these cigarettes by failing to pay Customs Duty taxes.
He is due to be produced before the Welimada Magistrate's Court today.
