Isolation of Maradana, Dam Street and Keselwatte police divisions that were isolated for about 50 days was lifted by the National Operations Centre for the Prevention of the Spread of COVID-19.
Further isolation was lifted in Hunupitiya grama niladhari (GN) division (Slave Island police area), Wekanda GN division (Slave Island police area), Mayura Place (Wellawatte police area), Halgahawatte and Kalipulla watte (Borella police area), Laksanda housing scheme (Wellampitiya police area) from today (28).
Meanwhile, Aluthkade East and West have been declared as isolated from today (28) due to COVID threat in the area.
Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said nine police divisions will continue to be isolated until further notice. They are Maligawatte, Dematagoda, Modera, Grandpass, Kotahena, Wolfendhal Street police divisions in Colombo and Avissawella, Ruwanwella, Kosgama police divisions.
Head of the National Operations Centre for the Prevention of the Spread of COVID-19, Lt. General Shavendra Silva announced the isolation of several areas in Eheliyagoda and Godakawela divisional secretariat divisions.
Minnana, Wilegoda, Yakudagoda, Asgagula North, Bopatta GN divisions in Eheliyagoda divisional secretariat divisions and Rakwana town, Rakwana North and South, Masimbula, Kottala GN divisions in Godakawela divisional secretariat divisions have been isolated until further notice.
