The Director of the Jaffna Teaching hospital has requested the SLTB to ensure the standards of its buses while also advising its drivers to abide by the traffic laws in a bid to curtail road accidents.
Issuing a letter to the SLTB, Dr. Sathyamoorthy noted that buses travel at extremely high speeds in narrow streets and crowded areas. This often leads to a competition between private buses resulting in road accidents, the letter noted.
The hospital further said that it will extend its fullest support in this regard.
