Jewellers from UK arrive to study Lankan industry

A delegation from the National Association of Jewelers from the UK arrived in Sri Lanka this week to conduct a detailed study of the country's gem and jewelry industry and to purchase gems. 

The group was warmly welcomed at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA). 

The delegation will spend 12 days in the country, traveling to different parts of the island where the gem and jewelry industry is located. Ratnapura, Elahera, Beruwala, Kandy and Galle are some of the places they will be visiting during their stay. 

The group will study the country's gem mining industry, jewelry making industry and gem sales during the course of their visit.
