Joint Opp. wants Parliament SG removed

A motion seeking the removal of the Secretary General of the Parliament from office was handed over to Speaker Karu Jayasuriya today by the joint opposition group.

They allege that the SG failed in his duties to carry out the vote on a supplementary estimate taken in Parliament on May 05, 2016 in an orderly manner.

The motion that was signed by 32 parliamentarians was handed over by JO leader MP Dinesh Gunawardena on Tuesday.

The motion had been signed by  Dinesh Gunawardena, Dullas Alahapperuma, Mahindananda Althgamage, Keheliya Rambukwella, C B Ratnayake, Gamini Lokuge, Prasanna Ranathunga, Weerakumara Dissanayake, Niroshan Premaratne, Sisira Jayakody, Prasanna Ranaweera, T Ranjith de Soyza, D V Chanaka, Geetha Kumarasinghe, Tharaka Balasuriya, Padma Udayashantha Gunasekara, Wasudeva Nanayakkara, Janaka Wakkumbura, Vijitha Berugoda, Ramesh Pathirana, Indika Anurudda, Udaya Gammanpila, S M Chandrasena, Bandula Gunawardena, Namal Rajapaksa, Janaka Bandara Thennakoon, Wimal Weerawansa, Kanaka Herath, Shehan Semasinghe, Piyal Nishantha de Silva, Kanchana Wijesekara and Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena.
