The first political rally of the Joint Opposition under the theme 'Ivasuwa Athi' will be held on March 08 at 3 pm in Kandy under the patronage of Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapaksa, Parliamentarian Dallas Alahapperuma said.
He added that this rally would be attended by all opposition Parliamentarians, and by both former and present opposition provincial councillors.
"A total of 10 rallies are expected to be held under this theme across the country" MP Alahapperuma remarked adding that the motive of these rallies would be to garner a huge number of supporters in order to face the upcoming Presidential Elections on December 07.
A protest march would also be organised from Kataragama to Colombo to mark the conclusion of all 10 rallies.
