The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) has rejected claims it would move court challenging the dual citizenship of Presidential candidate Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.
Issuing a statement, the JVP said that such remarks made to that effect by Health Minister Rajitha Senaratne in Colombo recently, were done to mislead the people.
"The JVP will not resort to other means and underestimate the sovereign voting rights of the people unlike the United National Party which is attempting to to do so by avoiding the election," the statement read.
The JVP emphasised that it will only seek to defeat their rival candidate through the votes of the people.
Accordingly, the party urged the people to join its National Peoples Power alliance without being mislead by such remarks.
