Two more suspects have been arrested in connection with the shooting of two prison buses at Ethanamadala in Kalutara on February 27. Police said the two suspects, both aged 27 years, were arrested yesterday evening in Athurugiriya in raids conducted at two different locations.
The suspects were taken into custody by officers from the Colombo Crimes Division. Police said the arrested suspects are charged with aiding and abetting the shooting.
Five prisoners and two prison guards were killed when several gunmen ambushed the two prison buses. Notorious underworld leader 'Samayan' was among those killed.
