Kandy violence: Nearly 150 arrested

The number of suspects arrested in connection with the violent incidents in the Kandy district since March 4 has risen to 146, police said this evening. 

Meanwhile, two teenagers have also been arrested for spreading false information via social media, police added. The arrested, aged 17 and 18 years, are residents of Homagama and Kollupitiya. 

A police curfew has been re-imposed for all areas of the Kandy administrative district except for within the Kandy Municipal Council limits, from 8pm today till 5am tomorrow.
