The Colombo Magistrates Court today (Mar 30) permitted the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) to detain underworld member 'Kanjipaani Imran' for three months under the Prevention of Terrorism Act.
The order was issued when the suspect was produced by the CCD before the Magistrate's court for a hearing today.
M.N.Mohamed Imran alias 'Kanjipaani Imran' was deported to the country on March 28 after being arrested with druglord 'Makandure Madush' and 29 others in Dubai.
Criminal Investigations Department (CID) officials had arrested the suspect when he attempted to take wing to Maldives following his arrival in the country.
