Landslides, slope failures, rock falls, cutting failures and ground subsidence may occur in Ratnapura, Nuwara Eliya, Kegalle and Kalutara districts due to heavy rainfall, warned the National Building Research Organization (NBRO).
Residents living close to Bulathsinhala divisional secretariat division and surrounding areas in Kalutara district, Deraniyagala, Dehiowita and Yatiyanthota DS divisions in Kegalle district, Kotmale and Ambagamuwa DS divisions in Nuwara Eliya district, Pelmadulla, Elapatha, Eheliyagoda, Ratnapura and Kuruwita DS divisions are requested to be cautious as these areas have received rainfall over 75 mm during the past 24 hours.
