The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) issued a landslide early warning in four districts of Kalutara, Kegalle, Matara and Rathnapura until tomorrow.
Accordingly, several areas Bulathsinhala of Kalutara district, Dehiovita of Kegalle district Kotapola of Matara district, Ayagama and Kahawaththa areas of Rathnapura district have been identified as the landslide prone areas.
Issuing a warning level of 1 since the rainfall within the past 24 hours has exceeded 75 mm and if the rain continues, the DMC warned locals watchful of the possibility of landslides, slope failures, rock falls, cutting failures and ground subsidence.
