The National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) has issued landslide warnings to certain areas in the Central Province owing to the inclement weather condition in the country.
According to the NBRO, landslide warnings have been issued to areas surrounding mountains in the Ambagamuwa, Kotmale, and Nuwara Eliya divisional secretariats.
Landslides, earthslips, and weathering of rocks could occur during the next 24 hours since rains measuring more than 75 millimetres could be experienced in these areas, the NBRO warned.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has also predicted showers more than 150 mm in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, and North Western Provinces.
