The Srilankan government is still waiting for an official communique from the Maldivian government over the arrest of a Lankan military soldier yesterday, a spokesperson from the Foreign ministry said. Spokesperson Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mahishini Colonne said today that the government is concerned regarding the arrest since a Srilankan national involved. The Maldivian Police have arrested a Srilankan sniper days after a sniper rifle bullet was found in the biggest weapons bust in the country's recent history. Meanwhile military spokesperson Jayanath Jayaweera said he came to know about the arrest that through media and the military was not aware of such arrest happened in Maldives.
