Sri Lanka’s new High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Saroja Sirisena visited the London Buddhist Vihara on her arrival in the British capital on Monday.
She was given blessings by Ven. Bogoda Seelawimala, Head Monk of the Vihara and Chief Sanghanayaka of Great Britain.
Accompanying Ms Sirisena was deputy high commissioner Samantha Pathirana. The members of the Vihara Management Committee Gamini Amarasekera, Lucky Panagoda, Sudanta Abeyakoon and Leslie Dep were also present to welcome her.
The London Buddhist Vihara was established in 1926 by Anagarika Dharmapala and is the first Buddhist temple in the West.
