Four illegal migrants including some Srilankans were arrested near the checkpoint of Smilnytsya in western Ukraine, Ukraine Today reported.
Three men and one woman with a baby stemming from Somalia and Sri-Lanka were heading to Poland on foot. Just a few metres from the border the migrants were noticed by a guard.
After the arrest, the men were moved to a temporary detention centre. The woman and her baby are currently in a hospital, since the child caught a cold. The border patrol says the migrants' influx increases in the spring. In March they have already caught three refugee groups.
