More than 40 Sri Lankans living as refugees in Tamil Nadu, India are scheduled to return to the island on November 17, under the UNHCR facilitated voluntary repatriation programme. The returnees, comprising 13 families are scheduled to fly in from Trichy.
Rehabilitation and Resettlement, Ministry Secretary V. Sivagnanasothy said that of the 41 refugee returnees 22 are males and 19 are females. They will go back to Mannar, Vavuniya, Trincomalee, Mullaitivu and Jaffna.
