Authorities in Puttalam took steps to shut down the town's Central Public Market, fisheries stalls and daily market stalls yesterday (11) after large numbers of people converged on these places in violation of social distancing guidelines.
Though traders were evicted from the market, officials said they are allowed to engage in trade elsewhere in a manner that follows health and social distancing guidelines.
