A large haul of landmines have been found in the Ilayamarndankulam forest area in Vavuniya.
Omanthai police said that 25 land mines were recovered in one sack. An RPG bullet was also found amongst the landmines.
The security forces believe that the stockpile of land mines may have been hidden by the LTTE during the war.
Further investigations are being carried out by the Omanthai Police.
