Ahimsa Wickrematunge, the daughter of the late journalist Lasantha Wickrematunge, has addressed a strongly worded letter to the President against the transfer of OIC Nishantha Silva from the CID.
OIC Silva, who was handling investigations pertaining to the abductions, assaults and murders of journalists such as Lasantha Wickrematunga, Keith Noyahr and Poddala Jayantha was ordered to be transferred from the CID on Sunday (Nov 18).

Accordingly, the letter stated that the President would "fail" if he stands in the way of justice for her father and other victims of brutality.
Ms.Wickrematunge had also urged the President to defend the constitution of Sri Lanka and remember the oath he took while assuming office as the President
